Gemini CLI - HeyGen Documentation

Make HeyGen videos from Gemini CLI with a plain-language prompt. Install the CLI first with npm install -g @google/gemini-cli@latest.

Add the server

Add HeyGen to ~/.gemini/settings.json, next to any servers you already have. Use .gemini/settings.json in a project folder to add it to that project only.

Restart Gemini CLI.

Connect your HeyGen account

The first time Gemini uses HeyGen, approve access in your browser. Run /mcp to see heygen connected.

Ask for a video

Make a 60-second HeyGen explainer about our new API release.

Gemini writes the script, picks the avatar, and renders the video. Finished videos also appear in Projects in HeyGen.
